Khan's directorial debut
- Sohail Khan was to play Zayed's role earlier, but
the rowdy behavior of brother Salman Khan on the sets
of Aziz Mirza's film and the events that followed were
said to be responsible for his opting out.

Hoon Na Short Synopsis
Major Ram Prasad Sharma (Shahrukh khan) yearns to see
the ambitious project Mission Milap become a reality.
A mission that will prove to be the dawn of a new tomorrow.
Where long standing enmity between two countries will
begin to see it's end. But some forces do not want that
dawn to come.
One
of them is Raghavan (Sunil Shetty) who will do anything
to prevent the strategic move. For this reason his devious
shadow looms large over General Amerjet Bakshi's daughter
Sanjana ( Amrita Rao), whose life is in danger.
Every
drop of Ram prasad's blood glistens with the shine of
pride for his country and he will not allow dark actions
to create an eclipse in its bright future. To protect
Sanjana, he goes to her school as a student..indeed
Back to School. Here fun and frolic conceal his real
intent.
Interview
with Farah Khan by The Movie Age
Farah Khan’s maiden directorial venture is ready
for release and Farah can’t think beyond the film.
In an exclusive interview with The Movie Age, Farah
talks about Main Hoon Naa as its music releases today.
Q.
How did Main Hoon Naa happen?
A. I always wanted to be a director. I joined the industry
as Mansoor Khan’s assistant. But, I became a chreographer
by default. Finally in 2000 I discussed it with Shah
Rukh and he agreed to do my film.
Q.
How did you decide to cast Zayed as Shah Rukh’s
younger brother?
A. The casting of Shah Rukh’s younger brother gave
me much grief. Hrithik was supposed to do it, he even
shot for a day, but then Kaho Naa Pyar Hai happened
and he became a big star. I wanted Sohail, but there
were other problems. I had reached a stage, where I
was willing to cast Farhan Akhtar. Then Ratan Jain recomended
Zayed for that role. The first time, I met him, I knew
he was just right.
Q.
Is it true that you instructed Anu Malik to make sure
that the music had a R.D. Burman touch to it?
A. Yes, I love R.D. Burman. I wanted to make a film
with his songs in it. I discussed it and someone must’ve
heard the idea. Because soon I heard they launched Dil
Vil Pyar Vyar. When I launched MHN, I told Anu to give
me music that R.D. would be proud of.
Q.
Apart from R.D., SRK is another inspiration...
A. I cannot imagine my film or my life without Shah
Rukh. He’s a friend, I totally depend on.
