The publicity campaign for Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit Bollywood musical Bombay Dreams has begun in New York despite the show not hitting Broadway until next year. They kicked things off with a full-page colour advertisement in The New York Times featuring the poster of the show with the names of Andrew Lloyd Webber and the composer of the music A R Rahman. Although Webber hasn't announced the American cast of the multi-million pound project there are strong rumours that he will be getting some big names from Bollywood. Webber will keep most of the creative team for the Broadway version of the production. The major difference will be that the script will get a rewrite and possibly introduce new American characters. The musical will be shown at the very prominent Broadway Theatre, a venue that has a capacity of 1,600 seats. The previews will start on March 29, 2004, with the officially opening being a month later on April 29.
